Organizations that purchase group access to LDI microcredentials can choose from three flexible delivery options tailored to their needs. Whether leveraging NJIT’s Canvas LMS or integrating directly into their own system, each pathway ensures streamlined access, tracking, and impact for learners.

Option 1: Importing Learners into LDI’s Canvas LMS

  • How it works: The organization sends LDI a roster (e.g., spreadsheet with participant names and emails). LDI staff upload the list into NJIT’s Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). 
  • User Experience: Each learner receives an email invitation containing their login credentials (with their email address as the username) and direct access to the courses through NJIT’s branded Canvas platform. They experience the same interface as individual learners, but with preloaded access.
  • Benefits:
    • Fastest setup for large groups.
    • Minimal technical requirements for the organization.
    • Learners gain immediate access with institutional support and tracking.
  • Best For: Organizations without their own LMS or those wanting a turnkey solution where LDI manages enrollment and access.

Option 2: Creating a Unique Section in LDI’s Canvas LMS

  • How it works: Instead of blending participants into the general pool, LDI builds a dedicated course section in Canvas specifically for that organization. The organization sends LDI a roster (e.g., spreadsheet with participant names and emails). LDI staff upload the list into NJIT’s Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). 
  • User Experience: Each learner receives an email invitation containing their login credentials (with their email address as the username) and direct access to the courses through NJIT’s branded Canvas platform. They experience the same interface as individual learners, but with preloaded access.
  • Benefits:
    • Greater customization and visibility.
    • Enables cohort-based learning (participants progress together).
    • Allows for tailored communication, discussion boards, or even optional synchronous sessions if the organization desires.
  • Best For: Organizations wanting a private learning environment with tracking tools and a sense of community for their employees.

Option 3: Downloading the Course into the Organization’s LMS via Content Controller

  • How it works: LDI packages the microcredential courses as SCORM/xAPI-compliant modules and delivers them through a content controller. The organization’s IT or LMS administrator installs the modules into their internal learning platform.
  • User Experience: Participants access the course content through their employer’s existing LMS, just as they would with other internal training.
  • Benefits:
    • Seamless integration with the organization’s training ecosystem.
    • Centralized tracking and reporting within their own LMS.
    • No need for employees to manage a separate login system.
  • Best For: Larger organizations with robust internal training systems that want to consolidate all professional development within their existing infrastructure.
